Projects
Examples of reuse in real-world building projects show how we can change how we construct our built environment.
Centre Pompidou
The Maximum Architecture "Papillon" repurposed glass from the renowned Centre Pompidou in Paris. By incorporating salvaged materials into the design, the project not only pays homage to the iconic original structure but also pushes the boundaries of architectural innovation.
ReUse Pavilion
As part of Studio ReUse at ETH Zurich with visiting professor Barbara Buser in 2022, students dismantled a house in Winterthur and analysed the reclaimed materials to design and build this pavilion. In just under two months, the students built this pavilion from scratch, using 99% reused materials.
Huber Pavilion
The Huber pavilions on the ETH Zurich Hönggerberg campus were built from 1987 to 1991 as a temporary structure to offer studio spaces for architecture students. After over forty years of use, they were demolished in 2022 to make way for a new building.
